australia
my arow was injerd and had some scales riped off by the driff wood.
he now rubs his barbs on the glass and swims against it.and his not eating!
wats wrong with him??

please help

Their scales tend to fall off after rubbing against something.. Mine seem to do that at least once a week when it swims toward the filter and 'bumps' on it. It will heal and be fine in no time, use some aquarium salt to help with the healing process--some people do recommend raising the temperature a little to help the healing process go faster as well.

Good luck!

he got freaked out for some reason, something must have startled him.

and he still might be shaken up because of that and thus is not eating, BTW what kind of arowana is it ??? if its an australian then it is quite normal, he will start eating after a few days, mine used to go hunger strikes for nearly 8-10 days, not a big deal, usually i used to coax him with earthworms and he used to get back to his normal eating behavior

Yeah I hope you follow the instructions on FRESHWATER AQUARIUM Salt that you bought. As for raising temperature, around 82-85 degrees F is okay, don't let it get any hotter than that IMO, or you'll be cooking your fish. :)

well its at 84 degrees f the i bought salt from the lfs the guy said it was aquarium salt .but ll call up tomoro and ask the guy .the aquarium is 25o liters and i was told to put 2 table spoons

250 litres for a 19" aro is way to small, when it confined to such a small space I'm surprised it didn't hurt itself worse. and aquarium salt (for freshwater aquariums) is normally 1 tablespoon per 5-10 gallons depending on the brand.
