so here it goes
i want to buy a silver arrowana but the probelm is

which size arowan suits me better
12" arowana would be kept in a 5'1'2' tank
18" arowana in my pond 16'3'3' which includes its tankmates
7" Pacu 1
3.5" red devil 4
8" oscar 1
3"-4" fh 4
so whatshould i do i would prefer to have 18"

18" but ur FH and red devil will be dinner

how many silver arowana have you had over the last year?

why not put the 12" aro in the pond? seems to fit well with the tank mates. Just the 12" width of the tank seems like a tight fit.

but what about 8" oscar

Your tank is way too small for a silver. Either way, you'll have to put your silver in the pond. Relocate your red devil to your tank. The rest of the mates should be able to take care of themselves.

why you had 3 ? did they die?
reason i ask is that i had a pacu awhile back, it was 30 cms, with in a year, evenwith regulated feeding a low protein diet, it grew to 65 cms!!! they r f....n huge!

and because i didnt feed it to its hearts content, it ate 3 plecos, 1foot plecos and even the glass eater!!! lol

the pacu could kill or already be killing your previous aros.

the red devil will easily be eaten by the 18 inch, i have seen aros this size eat adult mice, ducklings and baby rats.
your pond is huge length wise, that could almos make up for the lack of width i guess. but the end of the day, your pacu will outgrow it easily.

all arowana which i had were of size 6" and two of them were sold and one died by jumping

HOW SHOULD I INTRODUCE THE ARROWANA?

so that it is final that i am going to buy 18" but how should i introduce it in my pond

Silvers are relatively easy to handle. Don't release it immediately into the pond, leave the whole bag with the fish in your pond for 10 to 15mins. Then open up the bag and add some of your pond water into it. Wait another 5 mins and monitor your silver. Make sure breathing is normal. Repeat this several times until water is thoroughly mixed. Finally, release it.
