Arowana substrate

I was wondering what substrate is better for arowanas (if it even matters) sand or gravel?

I also have sand and My arow is only 5 inches long and dosnt produce alot of waste so i never really see it on the sand.

I use coral sand for my Afro set-up.

i had gravel for the longest time, switched to pool filter sand on my 240 last month. Looks really clean now.

Best setup would be bare bottom. However for aesthetic purpose, either one would be fine.
I would go with sand as it is much easier to maintain than gravel
