Hello,
I have a 1.5 year old silver Arowana who seems to be in some trouble. He's not swimming actively like he usually does, he's kind of just hanging in one spot on a 45 degree angle or straight up and down, head up. His fins themselves look good but coming off of them is what seems to be some slight slime and his body looks a little slimey as well. He hadn't eaten prior to me coming home and finding him like this for about 4 days. I did a half tank change 3 days ago because the water was cloudier than usual. My normal cycle is 25% every week and 50% once a month. All water tests came back good, temperature is good. All other fish appear to be ok and behaving normally although the cichlids are grouping and usually they are chasing.
Other fish in the tank:
Large African Clown Knife 12"+
Balloon Green Terror 4"
Severum 5"
Jack Dempsey 5"
Red Parrot 5"
Green Texas 3"
Blue Achara 3"
Algae Eater 6"
I feed Krill daily and mix in some bloodworm and mysis shrimp. There's rarely any extra food in the tank as they all scavenge pretty well. I did change to a larger Krill than what they were being fed.
120gal tank with Eheim Professional 4+
The only action i've taken so far is to change the white filter pad on the filter because I hadn't in about 2-3 months and am hoping that helps in some way. I've read about adding salt and other things but I don't want to do too much as I know I could do more harm. Any thoughts or should I expect to see him not make it in the next day or two....
Please help I'd hate to lose him as even with a drop eye he's really the showcase of the tank and the main reason I purchased a larger tank (Poor guy was in a 35 for first year of his life)
EDIT: The severum appears to have the same slimeyness on his fins but is acting fine.
