Hi ,

one of my red arowanas has tail biting, this is the first time i've encountered in keeping arowanas , i've read that sometimes tail biting is caused by ubseen parasites on the tail, I'v etried treating with oceanfree O anchorworm medicine for anchor worm and fish lice. but it did not help
its been 2 weeks since i'm done with the treatment, i've alreayd made lots of water changes, currently i'm using salt in my tank, any advise on how to approach this problem?

Is it possible that there is another fish in the tank that is biting the aro? If you have more than one aro in the tank, there is a great possibility that one is dominating the other

thanks for the reply, he has no tankmates, only a pleco, i have seen him bite he's own tail many times, he suddesly swims really fast and do a circle to bite his own tail :(

I am experiencing tbe same with my jardini. Its so frusttrating. What ive notice is when the light hits his body and he sees his reflection, he bends and tries to attack its tail. Any progrrss on your arowana?
