Arowana Tail

Depending on how much damage has been done, it may grow back very quickly if you provide excellent water quality. Just keep an eye on it for signs of infection, and if you see anything like that, treat with an antibiotic. A photo would help us determine how bad the damage is.

Is it just a nip and you can see tail still or has it almost lost it's tail. If a nip then it will grow back as long as the FH stops nipping. But if the tail was badly damaged enough it might not grow back. A picture would be good to see the extent of the damage.

took about 5 weeks for 2 small 5" or less black aros to regrow there tails. The first came back perfect, the second has no breaks between the tail and either top or bottom fin.

my young silver aro decided to swim between my baby gar and his prey... gar had already launched its attach and clamped onto the arowana's tail... this is the damage... will it ever get back to normal? I removed the aro an placed it in a separate tank. she swims about like nothing ever hpnd and eats normal. I pumped up temp to 30 degC to help. Pls advise...

I'm not sure that will grow back fully if at all tbh it's off to a stump the whole lots gone :( I hope I'm wrong

Chris it's more then likely that your aros tail will not grow back, the top and lower fun will bug I'm very doubtful of the tail. If OP your around just got nipped and nit that bad it will be fine, add a bit of salt to the water and keep nice quality. It should grow back. If it grows back uneven cut the tail with sharp scissors to make it grow even. Knock the fish out first
