i have read alot of threads regarding the arowana backgrounds. some people suggest using a darker background to reduce arowana aggression and some people suggested not using a background at all. all of them had their views. but i really want to go ahead and experiment with the dark as well as no background. my aro tank was without any background for the past week and the aros have been fighting and going after each other. yesterday night i decided to put in some background. so i put a pink colored cloth. and bingo the fighting stoppd totally and infact they are swimming together.side by side. so what i think is that its not the light or dark background but maybe the change in background makes them feel that they are in a new environment and they stop fighting over territorial issues. so changing the BG every couple of months would actually help in stopping them from fighting. what do you guys think??:)

Try other colors and note what happens and of course tell us this could be interesting-Anne

dont think its the background b/c i have black background,my arows dont fight but my friend has black background as well but they still fight

Interesting... you could be right. maybe it IS the illusion of the change of environment.

i am not saying that the colour of background is important. what i am trying to tell here is that a change in the color of background helped my aros to stop fighting because maybe they thought that they were in a new environment. so yesterday nite i removed the background and the aros got a little aggressive again. so i monitored the aros for sometime and then decided to put the cloth back on and they were back to normal again. i am gonna keep this bg for a week and then change to a some atoher. maybe this experiment could help other people. lets see what conclusion do i come to
