My Silver Aro is now 13" & has only been kept by himself since he was 6". I'm thinking about adding a King Kong Parrot or 2 that are 4-4 1/2". The Aro is probably territorial by now? Do you think the Aro & parrots will be fine or will the Aro put the smack down? Tank is 125 gal

Hi Bro

You can try putting in the parrot 4" to 5" size and try to introduce more than 2, try 5 to 6, I have done it with my Old RTG before, expect some wacking from the Aro on your parrot.

Just add the parrots, very little chance that you will have any problems. Generally silver aros are not aggressive or territorial towards any fish, with the exception of other arowana.

I tried putting aother aro in with my one aro and the dominant one was bent on murdeuring him.. But, when my dad came over and dumped 6 discus in my tank with the my Aro, the Aro did notthing but ignore him. Now, he occasionally will chase one around for a brief moment or he'll aggressively take food out of their mouth, but that's it.

so you have to aro's? with 6 discus and they are getting along?

No. I have the one Jardini Aro with six Discus. I had orignally bought two 3" Jardini Aro's, but the less dominant one was getting torn apart by the dominant Aro. My dad then came over and threw 6 Discus in the tank to try and mix it up a bit, because the more fish in a tank it always better. But the dominnant jardini still was trying to murder the less dominant Jar. Althogh he Dominant Jar never even paid the Discus any attention. Now the Jar is close to 5" and they're all now living in a 125gal with absolute peace.
