We are just buying our first house and am putting in a 350g tank. I always wanted an arowana but don't know what kind of fish go good with them. I was thinking maybe a bgk, a sturgeon and some plecos these are some of my favorite fish. Are these good tank mates. What other duh should I think about getting. Any advice would be aswome.

I assume its a silver aro you plan on getting.. cos you are from the states.. if you havent read this thread yet, do have a read at it..

If you are buying a small aro its best to keep the fish by itself till it gets to about 12".. and then you can mix other fish.. I've had a BGK once with my aro and never had any issues.. but all this depends on the aro's temperament and also the size of the tank mate.. tankmates that could fit into the aros mouth are in danger most of the time.. A Sturgeon or a sterlet? which species? i've not read up or seen people with sturgeons in tanks.. mostly ponds.. so think about that..

Rays are nice bottom feeders just in case your aro has it's full. For me will will throw in a couple of datenoids too, have fun choosing.
