arowana tank size

Well you don't specify what type arowana. IMO the 24" is too narrow for any arowana once it is past 24" long. Though the SA aros are more flexible and can tolerate to some extent. You tank does have a good length and this may compensate for the narrow.

So what type arowana were you thinking of?

i am thinking of a silver arowna i cant get a 3 ft wide tank because when i move out i wont be able to take it with me

make it 9x3x2 and you can still get it through the door? :)

Ya, I don't think long term the listed tank would be good. I do belive a silver would do alright in that tank for quite awhile. Seems though the larger silvers get, the less flexible they become. I would think that a 30" plus silver would have issues.

Do you already have the tank? Could you possibly go 30" wide?

for life youll need at least 8x3x2 or sumthing

Unless you have a stand that you can dissemble or a stand that is only 2' tall then you won't be able to fit that through the door too.

Seriously, if I was planning on moving house I don't think I'd be wanting to set up a tank that large and commit to such big fish. The stress on you and the fish during moving just isn't worth it. I have to move my 160g with a 14" green aro in two weeks time, and to make life easier I've bought a new 210g to set up at our new house (which we will be staying in for 5-10+ years) so I canb just transfer the fish.

When are you moving and how permanent will your new home be?

Oh, and to answer your question, ANY species of arowana should grow to 30"+, so regardless of the length a 2' wide tank isn't going to work for life.

thanks for the advice guys im not going to get a tank that big until i move out my 125 exploded on the second floor the other day so right now i just have to work on getting another 125/150. learned my lesson, i wont be buying a used tank again.
