Ok. I posted a couple other questions before on this but I want to recap and make sure I do this right.

I am planning a 300g tank (minimum, might end up a little more haven't set my mind yet), and want the following fish in there:

1x Silver Arowana
1X Stingray (probably motoro, butwould rather have a specie that stays at 12" disk but we shall see what I can find around here...)
3-4x Red Belly Pacu
4x Tinfoil Barbs

Do you think this setup would work? Do you think the ray would thrive with those fishes? I am a beginner at rays, it will be my first time with them. I read a lot and think I can handle the cares...Please give me your opinion. Is this overstocking or will it look empty, agression, etc...

One more question. I have a grow-out 55g tank with a couple channa pleurophthalma at 3-4". Do you guys think I could use the same tank to grow a 4" or 6"-ish Arowana and the tinfoil barbs? I believe the channa will not bother the other fishes as long at they are below 6-10" or so...All my fish are very well fed, and of course they are moved as soon at the tank needs upgrading.

Advice please

All the fish you have mentioned would make great tankmates in a 300gal i don't see any problems what so ever ! I have a 13" silver aro and he lives with a 6" tinfoil barb and they get along great ! in my honest opinion i think tinfoils make great tankmates for aro's.

Remember that the Red Belly Pacu can reach a large size 40" so bear that in mind ! Although they are slow growing !

with the pacus i would only go with one, way too many big dudes

but you other fish choices are excellent

i dont trust the channas in the 55

put em straight in the 300 they should be fine

China Ray :woot: Or a Mekong SandShark :woot:

Pout

I put the 7" aro in the 55 with the two 3.5" channa, and 4x 2-3" tinfoil barbs. Everything is well, the channa are trying to impress the aro with their fins/coloration... Nobody bothers nobody, everything is under control. The channa are about 1/3 the size of the aro, she could snack on them if she wanted to.

This is obviously temporary, and I do not fear the channa. They are pleurophthalma so have a moderate character. If the channa start acting out I will move the aro in my 130g. My 300 is not ready yet, and anyways I would not put 1x 7" fish in a 300g. I prefer growing out the fish then housing them in large tanks.

Thanks guys for your replies, seems my plan has worked :)
