So i recenltly brought home an RTG. and I bought a heater for my aquarium. what temp should I put on the heater?

Did you mean to say you don't know how to use the heater? could you give the make and model number or post a picture of the same? you could set the temp around 22 C to 24 C. I'm sure others would suggest slightly higher temperatures but this should be ok.. have a read at this mate..

When i do put in a heater, i set it at 28. In laos water temp in summer is higher than that, but when winter comes it is well below 25. Manila can get quite cool surprisingly. Never hurts to have a heater anyways.
Heaters are absolutely unnecessary in our neck of the woods. It's just that some more "advanced" hobbyists have it so the newbies believe it is necessary when it isn't.
i disagree, the temperature can drop quite low at night less than 25 (certainly this year it has) - safe than sorry i guess. the heater moderates temperature swings
