Can I get away with one silver and one jardini in a 8x2x2 tank?

In all likelyhood no and not just on size. 2 aros together likely wont work and the fact that ones a jar wont help

You could increase the width to 2.5 feet. your dimentions aren't bad actaully

I know someone that would sell me a comp tank canopy stand sump bio-ball filters pumps everything for $1200. Is that a good deal?

If the tank is an 8x2x2 with canopy, stand, sump, pump, and filter, i would be expecting to pay over $2500-$3000 easily. $1200 is practically giving it away. Take that deal
