Arowana tank

I'm looking into purchasing an arowana but wondering what size tank for a full grown one. I have an empty 280g in my basement

I'd love to keep an Arowana myself and have wondered also. I was thinking of keeping a Silver, what kind were you thinking about? You might get more responses in the Arowana section.

Welcome to MfK! As long the minimum dimension around 72x36x24 or bigger then it's good for a Silver, wide is more important then aquarium high.

Arowanas are very big fish, and if your going for a silver Arowana I'd go for a 300. And if your thinking of tank mates I'd get a 500-700 acrylic tank because acrylic is much lighter than glass.
