So I finally found a nice IT 2 weeks ago, I drop him in the tank with my arowana, Flagtail, endli and gar. The first week, the arowana would swim up to the dat and the dat would hide away, but the past week the dat has been fronting instead of running, and they size each other up, 1:10 times they end up snapping at each other and chasing each other around the tank. The arowana is about 12 inches, and the dat is 10-11inches. Should I be finding a new home for my dat or should i just wait it out?

Keep an extremely close eye on the two fishes. Minimizing use of lights might keep the peace when you are not around. If fins or scales come up torn or missing definitely seperate. Maybe you can try later to put back them together after a week or two . Also change your tank surroundings some to distract them from each. Hope these suggestions help!

You need another Dat. Your Dat will then leave the aro alone and start bothering the other Dat. In my experience I've never had two dats kill eachother. Just play fight you can say. Or just watch them and they will stop. They could jst be feelin eachother out. My Ray did this to my Ngt three days later nothin.

Same thing happened to me. my 9 inch Dat started out just fine....It quickly gained confidence.....especially in low light. The Aro did not stand a chance.....It was not so much damage from the dat.....the stress caused the Aro to stop eating and damage himself on the lid and driftwood. I rehomed the Aro and he is doing fine....Now the dat chases the sliver dollars! It does leave the 3 inch Dats alone though even though he is over 10" mow and could probably eat them if he tried!

It's been 6 months...

That's a lot of fish for a 75gal tank
