I have a 3"-3.5" silver arowana and i was wondering if i can keep it with 3 2"-2.5" peacock bass? They will be in a 55g with two 350 pengiun hang on filters and 1 marine 1140 powerhead. Is this good enough to keep the tank clean as well?
Most Thanks!

You should be ok for a little while, but that tank is going to get cramped pretty quickly.

As far as filtration, that seems fine. I have similar filtration on a 55 gallon grow-out tank and I've never had any problems with chemical fluctuations...I just keep up with the weekly water changes.

Do you have pics of these guys? I would love to see them.

great combination, but horrible tank size. When do you plan on upgrading?

with in a month. :)

just watch your silver... if the p's can fit in his mouth they will... don't want to see you end up with some expensive feeders..

I think theyll be fine as long as you upgrade to at least a 6 foot tank soon, and eventually an 8 foot tank, but not for a while.

Hello,

it depends on the cichla.
I had a Cichla sp. Xingu 8inch with a 12inch Silver Aro in a 265g tank and the Cichla didn´t stop attaking the Aro.

Now I have a 24"+ Black Aro with 14-17" Azul Cichla and there is no problem.
sometimes the aro hunts them but it is not very agressive.

i currently have some floating plants that floats on top of the tank for the arowana, BUT he is such a pansy and will never leave the planted area and will never come out behind the filter. but if I remove the plants, Will the powerhead be too strong of a current for him? (he swims around more without the plants)
Thanks
