So I recently purchased an acrylic 180 for a jardini. I am planning to run the setup using a synergy reef overflow box to a 75 gallon sump with a w/d and plant grow out area.

I need to drill the holes for the overflow. What is the preferred height for the water level with a eurobraced top and lids?

I keep my tank around 3" lower than the top and thinking I need to drop it down. I might go down to 4-5" from the top to keep him from bashing into the top when striking food when larger. He is only around 12-13" in length.

Just my experience with mine... I taught all my Arowanas from when they were babies, to fetch food from my hand
None of them jump for the food now even though some are pretty big

Mine will take food from my hand as well, but I have to climb up there each time I want to hand feed. The top of my tank is 6' tall. It's easier to just toss food through my feeding holes.
