Anyone ever use water treatments for there arowana's? Like the one's you find on eBay. Do they actually work? Do they keep healthier, better looking fish? I've always been kind of skeptical of things like this and was wondering if anyone knows it to work or not. Thanks for the help!

Back in the day people used to use Blackwater extracts a lot to help enhance the water conditions for arowanas and make the colors stand out a bit. However nowadays I havent seen many people bring it up on the other boards.

Other than that Ive never used any additives or treatments personally. Just make your sure water parameters are in check and your arowana should thrive.

Never mess with your water. Some people think pH is too high or something and they start tampering with water, thats when you accidently kill your fish. Only water treatment you should use is dechlor and blackwater extract IF you know what you're doing, other than that, dont do anything else to do.

Thats fine. There was someone here like a month ago with a pH of 8.8 and asked if there was a problem. 8.8 is still fine as long as its not rediculous like 10. Dont try to adjust your water conditions or you'll end up with fluctuations in your params which might kill your fish. The most you really need to do is do more water changes, that goes for ammonia, nitrate, and nitrites too.

allright thanks, that makes sense, i always thought that fish would be able to get used to what they live in just like people with hot cold and diffrent reigons its the fluctuations that messes things up

More water changes is the best solution of all if you want to do something that could be helping your aro.
