shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I saw a picture of an arowana which looked like it had a mane around its head, and the main looked like bubbled skin. Was this a doctored photo or are there some species like that? The lady at the fish store told me shes never head of one like that. Also, this store was selling blue arowanas and they only had two that were about a ft long or more. They were each $500. Are they overcharging or is this a rare fish? Someone who worked there told me they dont ship blue aros anymore.

that is pricy and the mane thing is just a mutation.

usally they are at the most 275 but the difference is the black is a tad darker than the blue but both look the same overprice they are look at aqua bid .com you will see some on there for around 150-200 but you have to pay shipping.

If you are interest in purchasing I would talk to the managers of that LPS you can usually haggle with them. Well some of them depends on the store.

The bubbling is a mutation. Blue arowana are often called black arowana because as juveniles they are black in color. They lose it as adults.

There are also blue based asian arowana, but they would not be for sale in a store in Boston.

Blue arowana, Black arowana are just both common names for Osteoglossum Ferreirai

Mutation and more rare causing the price to go up...umm just depends on how people demands are if u want it enought u'll pay. hah
