i just got two baby silver arows that are about two or three centimeters long, did not expect them to come in this small when i had ordered them so i was going to put them in a twenty gallon until the grow a bit and lose the egg sacks.. is this a good idea? and i also got two very tiny peacock bass i was going to put in there with them.... about same size. will they do well together?

Those aros are very fragile at that stage. You should provide pristine water conditions so keep nitrates under 10 ppm. While they have the yolk sack the don't need to eat, but may. A good first food is freeze dried blood worms.

It's always been my belief that baby aros are best kept by themselves until 5-6". You may also see fighting between the aros.

Good luck.

thanks, what if i put a divider in the tank to seperate the arrows from the peacock bass for a month until the peacock bass are big enough to go into the 175?

then you would be cutting into the aros space as they need swimming room that would work better to seperate the aros if they fight...just put the bass in a diff. tank...

the pbass are really small like 2 cm... i was just worried about them picking at the egg sack. but i came across another 20 gallon so i will put the pbass in one and arows in the other. if i have problems with arrows maybe i will put a divider in, thanks for the help

good luck with those little guys. i'm surprised that anyone would sell you arowana that young, with such a high survival rate.

most stores don't care about the fish...they figure if the fish dies then you buy another one so more money for them...and atleast the stores by me don't garentee aros...
