Ok I went to Neighborhood fish farm and they had some Arowanas... I could swear up and down they were black with red on the tips of the fins. They were 95 bucks. They had left them outside in the cold. One happen to be struggling to stay alive. I really wanted to bring them home. I know nothing about them. I just hate that they were left out. My mom wanted me to bring them home. She was very concerned for them. He said they were regular arowanas.... I dunno.... Can they live in really cold water?

Arowanas could never live in cold water. They were probably red and brown, which are jardinis.

x2 They can't survive in cold water

Juvenile Jardinii's have the red/black or red/brown pattern. $95 is pretty steep for almost dead aro's

Only one was struggling... there were 3 in a corner.... I think my mom was wanting me to rescue... LOL I just couldn't do it. I don't have a tank big enough for them... How would I get rid of them after that. I just saw they were really nice... Knew that keeping them outside was really bad. It was like 30 here in Miami I think.... They were real pretty. I would love to own one.... Maybe one day... It just made my mom sad. *She isn't a fish person*

Jardini arowana and arapaima gigas are illegal in FLA. Only legal aro is the Silver, they are tropical fish and can't live in the cold.

Livebearerfreak I live in my own house.... So getting a bigger tank for them isn't the problem.
Bderick67 I really wish I had taken a pic.... I even asked if they were black I would swear on my life they are not the normal ones you see. The guy was like yup just arowana... Just nicer ones then the regular ones we get.
Miami doesn't get cold often and this is a fish farm. All fish are left in those cement pool like. No heaters..... http://tropicalfishmiami.com/shop/
