Jars like to pick on everything and everything I have read on them they seem like they just slowly kill off their tank mates. I've never own one so who am I to say what's what. I would keep them separate if it was me. Put the jar with larger hardy fish. Africans aren't as common and are a pretty penny so it would really suck to look him, you know.
