Ok, I know there are experts here so come on gimme some advise!! My lfs called today told me they have in two arowana a pearl aro and a silver aro. (please remember that im in Ireland its hard to get nice tropical fish here) They know we recently got rid or our RTC to a lady with a huge tank.(ok i know its bad cause i loved him ssssoooo much and its killing me but I found a lady who has a huge tank and was willing to take him... money things changed we were hoping to move to a bigger place to build a pond... have all the stuff bought already.. tear) Any currently I have two tanks up and going. The aros are supposed to be 10". I was considering putting him in my 300 gallon, currently in there is 2 pangassius catfish they are about 11", two oscars about 8", a piballed walking catfish about 8", two read head cichlids about 7", a raphael catfish (never see) and five plecos ranging from about 15" down to three lol two of which i dont see either lol. is an arro a good idea or bad.... and can anyone provide some good info everyone gets on great at the moment?? pretty please :)

sorry for late replying your question buddy... pearl aro is kinda crazy and will make chaos inside your tank and definitely cannot be comm together with silver aro but nothing impossible just you have to put them inside different tank is they start fighting to the death, so to keep your tank harmony better just take silver aro and that will be good choice unless you want to see some chaos inside your tank then can choose pearl aro... good luck and take some pics for us and enjoy your new aro :)

With all the other fish in there, it might just work with the Jar. Be ready with plan B if it doesn't work out. Good luck.

Do NOT put both fish in the same tank.

Oh no Im not getting both anyway just one..... just trying to pic which one is gonna get on best you know yourself... do not need havoc in the tank

The pearl, as said before is not a good community fish. The silver could work but could be easily killed by your two oscars, so I would keep a close eye and have another tank ready if needed.

I have a second 100 gallon tank... but was keeping that for my small fish until they are big enough for my big tank... there is another two oscars two convict a clown knife fish and a crayfish..... these are all small let me stress and when they are twoo big for for 100 gallon they will be going into the 300 before anyone has any heart attacks... I was just thinking that that may be a bit small for a 10" aro. Like I said I ahvent had one before and I am just trying to find what way would be the best accomodation if I do get him... my lfs are keeping both for me at the minute so I can choose after xmas

Well at least you have somewhere to move the aro if needed. No one can really say for sure what will happen. The oscars could just ignor the aro all together or they may be aggressive towards it, only way you'll find out is to give it a try.

the pearl is an jardini?

i say get the silver, but only if your filtration can handle another large fish. Seems like your tank is stock fairly heavily
