Arrow freaking out

i've had my silver arow for almost a year now and everthing has been good. yesterday he started freaking out so bad whenever someone walked near the tank i thought he was gonna kill himself. what gives? he's abount 20' and hes in a 180g the water is changed 50 -75% weekly so theres nothing different or bad in water peramiters. for now i have turned of all the lights and put a blanket over the tank he has calmed right down for now and hasent jumped in about 18 hours. was this a good idea? can anyone else help?

i would say it is a good idea. I am not familiar with the measurements of US tanks, but usually this kind of behaviour appears when they feel tight/cornered.

can someone, unnoticed, be scaring the aro?

any change in the lights, stronger?
 
One thing I realized is that my arow gets freaked when my bichirs get stressed.
 
every once in a while silvers will get a wild hair up their *** for no apparent reason and go ballistic...it can be very stressful for both the fish and the keeper....turning off the lights was a good idea..
 
i though mine might go right through the side of the tank...i've heard of TSN doing it....
 
My black aro does that sometimes and I have noticed he doesn't like certain colors. For example he doesn't like the white towel I wipe the tank down with,even though they are supposed to be color blind.
 
ur aro is fine. aros have spazz attacks atleast once a year. sometimes i wake up to it all worried and watch him go balistic. then eventually it ends with a few unwanted bruses on himself and i sit and stare like "whats ur problem" lol.

big arse tank, no more balistic tho. ever since my 400 none of my aros have done such a thing.
