This is my first Arrowana. It's a common silver one. It's about 2" long. The lfs said he ate guppies but I don't want to feed him live. So I tried blood worms and he wanted nothing to do with them. It's been 2 days. Must I do live when they are young or is there a small pellet thats good to feed them?

First of all let him settle in the tank and make sure ur water is properly cycled.
is his yoke sack completely gone?
u can try freezed dried blood worms and small pellets to c if he eats if not go with small crickets.

His yoke sack is completely gone. And the tank is well cycled my happy Tigrinus is proof. Ok I'll try crickets.

Don't expect an aro to eat right away. My jardini didn't eat for 2 weeks when I brought her home and the silver didn't eat for a week. Silvers are much easier to pellet train than others though. I would honestly just not try and feed him for a week or so. He will eat when he feels ready.

Are the blood worms your trying to feed freeze dried or frozen? Arowana that small will have a hard time with pellets, they are are too harrd for the aro to break up with it's mouth. You may try pre soaking the pellets to soften them you. The freeze dried blood worms are your best bet though.

X2....I've had luck taking hikari aro sticks and breaking them up into smaller pieces. It may take a while but this worked for me.
