Anyone here has a planted tank with schooling fishes such as tetras? There once was a LFS in sellwood named Aquariums Live a while back who incorporated a 19+ inch Jardini with neon tetras. It was housed in a 155 gallon bowfront and it was amazing.

I have a 27" silver arrowana and already know it is impossible for him. Looking to get a juvie jardini and duplcate this aquascape. Or if you have a silver which is housed in a community with small fishes, that would be amazing, but hardly unlikely. Right?

Had a Jardini with a school of Aussie Rainbows in a planted tank looked great. Jar kept wrecking the plants though :(
Had to add a few every now and then :D but they are a common local fish here. Probably best to use cheap and common fish.

Have you even tried tetras with your aro? My four arowana pretty much ignor the smaller varieties of tetra. As for a planted tank, arowana aren't gonna mesh with the plants.

any small fish i put with my aro gets eatten. yet it has no problems with my amazon swards or my aquatic celery. in fact my 14" silver loves to cruse through the celery's grasses.

That's pretty cool! I have tried goldfish feeders on 27" aro a few times during the 7 years I've had him. Even when he was a juvie. Just goes after them as any predatory fish would.

fOR MY NEW PROJECT. I'm thinking about get a 3" jardini and placing in my already established and planted 75 gallon tank containing larger tetras. Of course, as a trial. I'm taking cardinals out, since they are the smallest. 2" Lamp eyes and columbians are the next smallest. I'm motivated to get a planted aro tank with jar.
