i currently have a 9-10" silver arrowana. i moved up north and caught a baby smallmouth bass around 4". i am wondering if the smallmouth will be to aggresive for my arrowana. my arrowna is rather docile and had to remove a baby tiger oscar about 2 months ago. i am curious if anyone has tried this combo and would it be similar to a peacock bass and arrowana combo?

thank you

btw the bass is in a holding tank atm

Aren't they both liking different temps anyway?
Pretty sure smallmouth prefer 68/70°F but I have been wrong before ;)

I think the temps the smallmouth enjoy the aro doesn't and vice versa, but sure one can keep them together I guess lol.

The small mouth may kill the aro as stated. Silvers are usually docile in general let alone at baby sizes, and they're very sensitive at those sizes as well. I wouldn't recommend it just because you can't keep both happily, let alone possible aggression issues. If the aro was bigger I wouldn't worry about aggression issues a however.

yea that was my concern. the temps bass like are around 70, but this lake i got him in is warmer then most northen ontario lakes. my aro is starting to show tank dominace but still overall very docile. i really enjoy keeping my aro happy so im just going to either return the bass home or get him an proper tank set up.

thank you
