I was wondering if I could put two Arrows in my 240? I have one now that is a maybe 5" inches and my local pet store has another one the same size. I have 3 canaster filters on my tank XP4, XP3, and XP2 (its just filed with bio media). Let me know what yall think. Oh tank size is 8'x2'x2'

that would probably be better than what most aros end up in, so personally I'd give it a yes..

but then again.. aros may max out at 30"+ so be prepared to upgrade.. just for reference.. It has taken my biggest aro 2 years to reach her current size of 20" and that is without pellets.. she shows no sign of stopping anywhere soon.. search this forum a bit and look in the sticky section on top to find out more..

Its a silver. This is my second one. After my first one jumped out the week I bought my new house before I could move my tank. Needless to say i was a sick after that. But now I got the tank moved to my house and letting run for a few weeks before I move my arrrow to it.

long term a 240 really isn't wide enough for silvers but you can keep them in there till they are over 2' b/c they can turn on a dime. but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. My current silver is about 26" or more and the one I had jump was a hair over 30" but they had 585 gallons to swim in.

2 aros together is a hard thing to accomplish. I wouldn't want them in there when they pass 24" even if it's just one.

I think if you give the right amount of room for a silver to grow.. it will reach to its full potential..

so a 240gallon.. chances are.. one arowana will grow to its max length in no time.. So far i've had my arowana at 4 months and already he's reach 12" (got him at 4")

ALSO.. 2 arowana at one time is sorta risky.. I've personally tried this myself and my bigger arowana was biting on the smaller one. Also other forums have suggested to keep an ODD number of arowana together.

BUT and this is only a but.. I've seen Pictures from Thailand and Indonesia where arowana owners keep 1 Asian and 1 Silver together in a 200+ gallon tank.... I dont know if theres aggression.. but I def have seen this being attempt by people.... In fact. if asians were ever legal here.. I would try that out myself.. :naughty:

I have a 27'' black in a 240g it works they don't need 24'' to turn,i do wish i would have gotten a 300+ . I would stick to one aro or get a bigger tank and do a aro community. I don't know what yore stock list is like you may need additional filtration even for one aro, a eheim 2260 would do the trick.

too small for 2 silver

ive seen 2 silvers do just fine in a 170 gall they was about fairly large 1 about 30in and the other mybe 24in so i think a 240gall would b alright
