I had never heard of this shop before but there was just a small segment about it on the local news.Apparently the shop, located on McDade Boulevard in Holmes PA lost it's lease and the store owner closed up and abandoned the animals inside.During the news feature former employees were shown removing various small animals from the shop after they were finally able to get inside. Most of the animals, including tropical fish were rescued but the former employees were faced with the dilema of removing and rehoming a three foot alligator.
Another mom and pop type of shop gone forever.

If they were willing to abandon the animals then what does that say about them? I wouldn’t want to buy from someone who would do that personally.

Very unfortunate and sad to hear.

Am I crazy or am I the only one that thinks catching a 3 foot gator wouldn't be that difficult? Just come up from behind it and grab it by the neck and since it's so small it shouldn't have the strength to break free of your grip.

How very sad.
I wonder why they wouldn’t advertise everything for free or a significant discount? I can’t imagine they’d be left with anything after a couple days.

Removing it wouldn’t be hard at all. Rehoming I can see being difficult. Maybe someone can keep it locked in their bathroom for a few days till they find a zoo to take it? I’d do it if I were close enough. Lol

I wish i wouldve known so i could get in on the fish looting.
You could still get in on some of those tanks that will likely be tossed into a dumpster around back.

I'd imagine the staff could handle that much but I think their problem was having somewhere to take the gator to.....not to mention gators ar not legal in PA.
