doesn't really look like a ATF looks like a chalceus

its a contaminant with tiger fish, in the genus of Alestes sp. there are many species. They look like tigers and hang out with tigers, some are eye biters and scale eaters. Cool little fish. Probably A. baremose

What's the going price on those?

It looks a lot like a fish I saw here at a lfs.

if imported as Alestes, they're about $5-10 bucks each, if contaminant with tigers, they are sold at tiger fish price, 50-100. Some people tried to sell them as goliath tigers at 100-300 each. When we import tiger fish, we get about 1% contaminant, with fish like that, they mimic tigers, swim, eat and hangout with tigers.

There is a cooler contaminant, is the Raimas angsorii, they get real colorful, and have huge mouth, and I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for those, which are much rarer in the hobby. The locals probaby just eat them dried :)

thanks, i thought they looked a little off. are we positive?
