Are Cichlids that come from areound India and Asia "African" Riverine and Madagascar Cichlids? Or does it just depend on the species?

Are "Asian" Cichlids, the Etriplus and Iranocichla, considered 'African' Cichlids . . . or are they called Indian Cichlids.
they are not african rift lake, the Etroplus is related to the madagascar cichlids... so it is close although it is an Indian Cichlid... the other is an Asian Cichlid... if where does it fit in the sub forums I think it belongs here...
