Asian Aro and Black Aro?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was told two might fight, but if you have like five or six they should be ok.

depending on tank size, if it's large enough i've seen both work peacefully.

It can be done, though to do it you need to have two tanks. If they start fighting, you will need to separate them at a moments notice.

agree!

yeah it can be done but 3 would be even better. I got RTG and silver in one tank and it works fine i use to have a super red and 2 other rtg in it aswell but those other 2 rtg died and the super red is behind a devider atm so i can feed him more without the silver stealing all the food. But you cant see whats on the other side of the devider so yeah 2 aros is possible

I dont think any arowana can be considered docile when another arowana is involved- but both SA aros seem a bit more tolerant than asians and aussies-
something else that Ive noticed when mixing arowanas, is not to worry too much about the lengths of the fish- the height is much more important for an even match- so if a black arowana is 18" long and 3" tall, an asian might only be 12" at 3" tall- and the same applies to aussies also-

have a divider ready in case it doesn't work out. you won't know till u try it. keep us posted and good luck
