my greens just started to get droop eye, i know its because its watches the fish below it and looks out of the tank it even angles its body so it can see out of the tank better, don't know what im gonna do yet? any suggestions?

ive heard that floating a ping pong ball on the water will prevent eye droop but im not sure if it actually works

its in a 5 x 2 x2 an its 14" i think thats alright for a bit yet. i believe its beacause its been feeding of the bottom, the tank is situated high from thr ground an it people watches but it obviously looks down when doing this there is also many middle dwelling fish. ive allready stopped feeding sinking foods(nightcrawlers) and blacked out all sides of the tank to try an create a natural environment, im thinking if i added another aro this might help a bit of competition at the surface, nothing else really feeds from the surface

There are various methods you can try besides the pin pong ball one. Try covering all sides of the tank except the top so that the fish is forced to look up and lower the water volume to about half. You can also place blinking bicycle lights at different positions on top of the tank every night or one of those LED lights so that the wro will look up. You can also get a shallow fibre glass pond for the arowana and leave it outside so that it kinda resembles a natural habitat. There are operations that can be performed to remove the fat cells behind the eye so that it no longer droops but it isnt permanant and will get droopy eye again from what i hear.

Also, stop feeding the aro with high fat content foods, like meal worms, superworms, frogs. Pellets and live fish are best.
