Hello all
just being imaptient, see the jardinii ate with in hours of settling into the tank.
just got a new asian aro, 1.5. not interested in food yet. Wether it be prawns, or pellets.
Just wondering how long before everyones started eating?

Hard to say, depends on many factors...

What was it eating before? Tank conditions?

Could take days! Just wait and let it settle in.

yeah, i just wanna see it start eating lol, thats one of the main reasons i buy fish, how they eat!
it was eating prawns before.
so i put the same thing but isnt interested yet.
the ph is slightly different in the old tank it was in. maybe .5 to 1ph difference.

i wanna put it onto pellets like my jardinii.

its ok if it takes days, it just has to settle in.
Do you think LIGHT intensity is a factor ?
it has two bulbs in it, should i turn one off?

I think you sould stop worrying, you'll give yourself an ulser. it'll eat when it needs to.
The shop may have been feeding it live river shrimp.

they can sometimes be stuborn.

mine went off food for almost 2 months at one point. as long as it looks healthy and water is fine, he will eventually eat

fair enough
i left a camera recording without me watchin to seewht it does.
it went for a piece of shrimp on the ground but spat out, so its going for food just doesntlike it.
probably smells slightly different.
then it goes for plants, rips up the plants like a kid playing with a toy.

If its chewing and spitting them out you are half way there! Gr8 to hear now show us some pics!
