Hi there people, I´m in the middle of setting up my dream fish house/warehouse here in the south of spain and as I have both the space and the cash I want to try my hand at keeping (and hopefully breeding) asian arowanas. I've been searching around and it seems as if there is a serious lack of importers here in europe. I found a page from 2008, something like arowana.co.uk but as the last update is from 2008 and the level of english a bit sketchy I'm not exactly confident about them. What I really want to know is if anyone knows of a decent reliable importer who could get hold of these fish for me...
Many thanks in advance...

Panda aquatics export asian arowanas, however they tend to export in bulk so it makes the shipping fee worthwhile. If anything email them and try to work something out. If cash is not a problem then you could easily order and buy a whole batch from them. They have an extensive faq that you can use and you can ask questions via email. Good luck.

Why not deal directly with a farm? Did you contact Koji on this site? Personally, if cash was not an issue, I'd go hand pick and buy directly from a farm.

Contact Frank at www.freshwaterstingray.nl , they have some larger ones in stock. Contact Ruinemans in Holland http://www.ruinemans.com/ ,they bring them in. Contact Glasser in Frankfurt, http://www.aquarium-glaser.de/en/index.php , they can get them for you too. I lived in Europe for years, have many other contacts of keepers over there if you want to be connected.

Alternatively, arrange your own import, it is easy to do. Feel free to contact by PM to discuss further.

Buying in bulk may not guarantee you getting the fish you want and unless the bulk order is big enough and worthwell to be push ahead.

Dealing directly with farm allow you to see what you are getting. But the paper works will confuse you or may even proof difficult for buyer at time.

My advise is to seek someone who have been importing asia aro and asking them to help you import your request rather than doing it yourself.

Trust me for you will have much lesser to worry about except paying for the fish.:D

Another fellow you might want to contact is Jos, up in Utrecht, Netherlands. He has a great operation and is a super friendly guy. A thread about a visit to his shop is located here:

If you are serious about going ahead with a bulk import, I would recommend you visit Jos, Frank, and Ruinemans. They are all little more than an hour apart by car. It is worth taking the time to visit!
