Hello,
I'm setting up a tropical pond soon and definitely want to have an aro.

I love the look of Asians, but they are illegal here and jardinis would kill everything.

Is there any way a jardini could be kept with peacock bass and a redtail cat if it was added to the pond last? The pond is 8' by 6' and 3 feet deep, around 800 gallons.

If there's absolutely no possible way I could have a jardini, are there any other aros that look like Asians but are legal here?

Thanks!

They are easier to find then an Asian in the US. There were a few vendors that had them in Jan and Feb. I got one. I guess they show up in the winter. Just keep checking the classifieds here or post a WTB ad.

Lei's are less aggressive, but you'll prob be ok with jar and rtc as for the bass they'd have to be right size not to get killed don't get me wrong until the bass know who's boss there will be few scraps and no doubt some melafix to heal few fins but once settled they prob be ok I pond that size (what size jar you thinking ) they don't really show extreme aggregation untill about 10" mark then it becomes prob for tankmates , as long as the bass are same size or bit bigger they should handle it , you not fancy getting a silver aro ? Much better tolarance towards tankmates

They'll look like guppies in an 800 gal pond lol :D
