this might be a pretty dumb question but could someone clear this one up for me.

what's the difference between blood reds, chili reds and super reds?

with the X-backs, are there more than one type of X-backs like the reds? why are they called x-back anyways?

blood reds and chilli reds r simply different breeds of red asian arowanas which differ in price. chilli reds are more of an orangy red and they command a higher price. blood reds are a more traditional purply red which are still expensive. super reds are just different names for chilli and bloods....x backs mean that the actual colour of the arowanas go across the whole back of the fish. these fish command a higher price. the name X-back has nothing to do with the fish being red or gold...it is simply the colour crossing over the top of the fish...

thanks TLKmDN

would there be a chance that a normal chili would get its colors accross the back or you have to specifically buy a baby chili x-back?

Super Reds (or grade 1 Reds)are also "cross back". But people usually refer Golden CrossBack to XB (Cross Back).

why is that? is it because its rare for golds to be XB?

Well there's 2 types of gold. The "cheap" one we call RTG (Red Tail Golden), they are like the "Honda" of asian arowana, good quality price ratio. And the high end Golden, the Cross Back gold. RTGs shine levels (colored scales row) usually goes to the 4th or 5th row. XBs shine can go to the 6th (last row on their back), hence the name Cross Back. But some RTGs also cross, while also some XBs do not...

I saw you on ArowanaClub.ca. You can ask your questions there. There are plenty of fellow Canadians with experience (I am not talking about me). :)
