Was wondering if you guys have any advise or experiences that would help me out here.

Have a 35cm red tail golden arowana
And a 25cm datnoid in my 2100x1000x650mm

The dat is very persistent to be the "King" of the tank but looses the battle with the aro nine times out of ten, but still Continues to fight. wondering if he will ever give up or would it be best to move him on? He is fine with the other tank mates just wants to be dominant over the aro.

Cheers.

I have had many fish that just don't give up fighting, until they are near death, if it doesn't sort out the pecking order after a few days it would be best to just remove one.

Yeah it's a shame really. He is a big dat and nice looking. Ill keep him until the week is up. Then see how they are getting on.

I had the same problem with a golden crossback and a dat.
It never worked !
The aro was always searching the dat and the dat wont give up the fight.
The dat had to go.
I also had some troubles with a black aro and a dat.
In this case the dat was the agressive one.
For me dats and aros are a bad combo.
If there is a trick i would love to know it.

Its the Arrowanna. They don't like tankmates. Will constantly fight

Old thread but oftentimes dats and aros don't seem to get along.
