Asian arowana

Is it illegal to buying/selling and trading in the US? How about own them. Like we know, asian arowana can live for a long time, so people have them in the past, still alive now, is it illegal or not?

1. It's illegal to buy and/or sell asian arowanas in the U.S.
2. It's illegal to own asian arowanas in the U.S. unless you have a special permit which zoos have (Detroit Zoo/Toledo Zoo both have asian arowanas display)
3. I don't know the exact details if pre-ban asians are grandfathered in or not. The ban occur back in the 70's, so pre-ban asian arowanas would be in their late 30's, early 40's. So very doubtful anyone would still have a pre-ban asian arowana
4. Sorry you're not getting an asian arowana anytime soon

Good information. I thought they just ban for 10 years. I still own some super red arowana oversea.

Yeah don't get why Canada it's legal but U.S has a ban. I get why snakeheads are illegal in California people toss these in the rivers lakes and kill the population just like how piranhas are illegal there as well.
