Why would anyone go bother with collecting them in the wild when they're available in shops all over the world except for the US? Heck you can go scoop one out of a pond in the Singapore gardens if you really want one that badly...

I'm not sure how much influence such a group would have on the politicians and laws that are in place in this country.It appears to me that no one who is in any position to change the status is willing to do so.
