I am contemplating....very seriously of getting a small asian arrowana to live with my Aussie lungs and my discus and rainbows. Understandably the rainbows are probably going to get it at some point however was wondering about the discus. My kids and wife love the colors so having some second thoughts. What are the thoughts on living together? The discus are all 5-6 inches.

I've seen a few discus tanks with arrowana but they were only 6 to 8 inches. I would imagine when they get bigger your discus will be in a lot of danger. I would not risk it especially with the price of discus.

Asian aros can get quite aggressive when larger, IMO I think you'd have better luck with a black than asian if you want to keep an aro with your discus.
20 years ago I kept a Jardini with Discus for several years with no problem. That was before the internet. Neither the fish or I knew he was a badass.

Shouldn't be a problem
The trick is to mix them with lots of different types of fish from young
My 28" red won't bother 8" tiger fish as it has been kept with them from small
