My first guess was Chinese...but it's not. I got a hit for India, but not even close there. I try Japanese, seems a little close but can't match up the cts after the 500.

Will keep looking

Edit: Missed the flags earlier...will go that route.

I'm going to have to say Taiwan. I get hits on both of those flags for Taiwan. I haven't been able to match the money though.

The cts could stand for cents... as I saw this on a website about Taiwan:

Currency:1 new Taiwan dollar = 100 cents

So, that 50 'dollar' bill could equal 50 cents as it seems to hint.

That as close as I came. It seems to be either The Republic of China of Taiwan and 50cts to 50 cents possibly late 1920's to mid 40's but I can't seem to find the actual note

Definitely a taiwanese note of some sort... funny thing is on the bottom pic, i can just make out the print on it saying "printed by some book publishing company" or something... a lot of words are cut off due to wear and tear, so cant say for sure..

You guys are also correct saying its a 50cent note... just cant see any indication of what year it was printed though...

This piqued my interest, and after looking at bills over many years, im not sure its even taiwanese. Mainstream taiwan at least. Yes the flags, but the style of the bill doesnt resemble anything ive seen so far. I also didnt see any (that i recall) that had the CTS after the denomination.

try search under Taiwan. ROC means Republic of China where China is PRC meaning People's Republic of China
