So I have this problem. My asian Arowana, a Highback Golden, is now about 13¨ big. And he is being a little aggressive towards his tank mates.

He lives with 2 L137 plecos about 5¨ (doesn't care at all about those), an L190 Panaque about 10¨ (doesn't care about him either) and 2/2 Geophagus Winemilleri about 7¨. He doesn't like it when they come up, but Geophagus are natureally almost always around the bottom, around the sand and that doesn't bother him, so they're good.

Now I have had some widebar silver Dollars (Myleus Schomburgkii) with him and he didn't like them - he didn't attack them very aggressively but always showed them that the top half of the tank is his and only his territority. Sold them because it didn't work out very well and they were always a bit stressed because of him.

Then I had a pair of Cichla Monoculus. They were both about 12¨ big. He showed them from the start whos the boss and they never wanted to defend themselves. Again, he didn't attack them deadly or super aggressive, but always charged them when they came near him or when he was "patrolling" his territority and they were near... I gave them to a friend of mine who has some Monoculus around the same size, now they're in a nice group without some Arowana boss stressing them.

My question is, is there any chance my Arowana is going to live with some other fishes around him? Maybe Dats? Should I look around for one, two or maybe even three bigger sized Dats? Like, should I try to get Dats that are at least 10¨ big already? You guys think they will be okay with him and wont be super afraid of him?

My rtg lives with 5 parrot fishes, one Plecoptera and one silver shark. All seems to get along well
