Asian Red Tailed Catfish

Would anyone like to share their experience with the asian version of RTC? Do you think these guys would eat pellets?

very mean fish. should be kept alone. i've got mine on shrimp pellets. blood worms and fresh shrimp.

As it said I quote” Will eat anything and everything. In nature the diet consists of fish, shrimp, and crab. Like all large predatory catfishes, it should only be fed every two to four days once it reaches 12 inches in length."

I have given them in the past earthworms, cockles, prawns, mussels, pellets and white bait not a problem and they have the ability to bite, and will do! That includes most tank mates. They can grow to just short of 3 ft. Very cool fish but can be a pain in the but.

No more than any large cat fish it just gets expensive when it eats its tank mates

We had an 8 incher in our 75 gallon tank for a while. We had it on a diet of mostly krill, with the occasional live feeding.

My roommate had one four or five years ago that he could hand feed. He had it in a 140 gallon and it got pretty huge.

i have an rtc not an asian one but he eats talipa out of my hand they get big quick and any think i but in their under 3inches unless its a crayfish but pellets arent the way to go well i dont think at least
