Asian redtail not eating?

I've had this asian redtail for about a week now. hes in his own temp 40 gal for now. hes housed with about 20 minnows. before had 3 tiny gold fish. but all he does is bite at the tails of the goldfish or any other fish. he doesnt eat blood worms. pellets anything. but he is every active in the tank.

what is the temperature you are keeping him at
and it takes them a while to get comfortable with there environment

i moved him into my 120 with my cichlids he has his own hiding spot and tonight i noticed him eating pellets. i guess i just gotta put a couple extra pellets in for him at night time. do you think they'd survive in a outdoor south florida pond est. 1000gal. with a heater for the cold night

ya i know to watch out. but the other fishes are mainly bigger than him and since its their tank they keep him in line. no nipped fins or anything yet

mine was only 5 inches and it took out a 9 inch flower horn skinned him alive
