Im thinking of throwing one of these guys in with my lima. i know they are real mean and aggressive, but im buying one at 3 inches. How long until I have to seperate them? Are they ok until they gain some size?

Super territorial. How big of a tank do you have? They get big. I've had mine for not quite 2 years and he's over 20" long. Mine was good with tank mates until around the 10" mark at that point things start dying. Unlike many other catfish, the ARTC can bite chunks out of other fish. Here's mine at 20":

how big of a tank do you need for them? what about putting it with a crystal eyed catfish? btw mystus redtail, thats a beautiful fish
