Asian RTC and RTC.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I used to have 2 juveniles living in a 3000 gallon pond. Even with all the obstructions and hiding places n etc, the South American counterpart eventually killed the Asian one.

And they say the Asian RTC is the most agresssive catfish. Well true that because he was only 3 inches and the South American was 5 inches, but the Asian kept on attacking the South American so eventually, the SA got tired n decided to lay down the law. I found the Asian RTC in the morning bent in half and his head snapped upwards.

Asian RTC's are best kept alone. They will either kill any other fish in the tank, or the other fish will defend itself and kill the asian RTC.

Nope. He'll always see fish as food. Then he'll eat them. Yum! RTC's really aren't a community fish. It will eventually become a community of one.

and for some reason my RTC is so picky...EVEN WITH FEEDERS! He'll happily spit out guppies and barb feeders but will take tilapia and prawn feeders without hesitation.

And meaty foods, for him its yummmm

Is your ARTC bothering the other fish non-stop? Mine were ticking off the SARTC pretty hardcore. Hope your deal goes much better than mine bro.

I have a Asian Red Tail. I owned some in the past too. Once that Asian Red Tail grows to six - seven inches, your other fishes will be killed. The Asian Red Tail will kill other fishes for the thrill of it.
