Anyone have any experience with them? Lfs says they get about 16" not sure if I believe them. So any info would be awesome, thanks!

They still get big just not as chunky as South American red tails. And ye mean as hell

They get well over 16". Mean fish but really awesome and grow fast. Got one at 2" and it pounded back the massivore. Was over 8" in a cpl months.

They get bigger then 16" also depends on if you have H. Nemerus or H. Wyckiodes. Juveniles look very similar. Both very nasty. Plan on having a solitary fish.

Dang, that's a fish lol I think I'm gonna go with a Goonch, grows slower and a little more laid back
