I live in CT, and our beaches have quite a problem with asian shore crabs... theyre very invasive.

Anyone know what water temperatures they can live in? I want to put one in my invert only saltwater tank, but im not sure if it could tolerate warm water.
any info you guys could offer would be helpful.

If they are invasive, go and take one.

If it dies...it dies. Free fresh foot for everything else.

That being said, sometimes there are weird regs in regards to invasives.

There is an invasive in Wisconsin that you are not allowed to kill, and if you do, it is to only be one specimen for immediate transport to the nearest DNR station for analysis.

i see.. well i cant find any laws and you have a good point, if it dies, it dies.
these are pretty impressive crabs too, when they get bigger, so i hope it ends up working out.

edit- interesting, a guy on youtube has one in his reef tank with tropicals and its doing well.
:D

Around here we are required by law to kill invacive aquatic speasies when we see them and keeping them alive in an aquaria or as bait is a federal offence lol.

I might be a bit worried about this, i know in some places pretty mean fines exist for keeping invasive species, you can cop thousands of dollars worth of fines here for having a european carp.
so, look into it first.

Same thing as what Kevin said. In Texas, if you catch an invasive species, you are to kill it.
