asian style tank?

i just got my uncle's tank.
its actually 3 foot length by 1.5 width by 2 foot height.
bigger than i was told. :headbang2
im setting itup now and will be adding fish soon.
im thinking of doing an asian style crowded tank.:naughty:
i'll buy some fish,keep em for a while and then sell em off.
sort of like HKN.:naughty:
but my question is,would it work in a smaller tank?
HKN,whats your secret?
 
why treat fish like that? Why not just give them a nice comfortable tank? I think fish look better when they dont look like they want to commit suicide.
 
Plus, what can you really keep in a 30?
A single gulper cat maybe, most stuff is going to get too big with in a couple of months anyway.
 
actually its more like 45 gallons...
thats the biggest tank im gonna get for the moment.
my parents made me downsize alot.
im only going to keep the fish until i see that they are getting too big.
none of the fish are going to be permanent.
 
i just wanna know what youre gonna keep in there?
Only thing I can think of is polypterus, and they wouldnt be for very long.
You could keep short body senegals in there for life though.

Grow out tank for dats and polypterus.
Put a crapload of them in, "asian" style tank.

cant get small preds.
my gulper would eat them up.
ive kept over 30 polys and just sold most of them.
so im not gonna do polys.
i do have 2 albino sens and a large lap left.
i was thinking of getting some dats since they grow so slow.
i'd like to keep lotsa preds in thereand sell or give me away when they get too big.
anyone can give me an idea of super filtration?
 
put and FX5 on that tank...

also with your gulper in that tank, you idea or dream wont work, you wont be able to give or sell the fish because they will be food...
